What does my registration include?

Where will the Benchmarking preview meeting take place?
The two-hour meeting will take place at the below locations from 9:00 AM - 11:00 AM.

Is transportation included from the meeting to the port?
No, transportation is not included. All pre and post transportation, including parking is your responsibility. Please visit Parking Concepts website. Parking capacity is limited, so we encourage guests to use public transportation, car service options, ride shares or taxis.
Can I attend just the Benchmarking session?
ASTA members can attend the meeting portion of the event free of charge. Registration is required for accurate counts. To register, select the "Meeting only" options during registration.

When do passengers embark? *Times have been updated*
Los Angeles (April 29-30) will begin embarkation on 4/29 from 11:00 AM to 2:00 PM. All passengers must be on board by 2:00 PM.
When do passengers disembark? *Times have been updated*
Passengers will disembark on 4/30 from 12:00 PM to 1:30 PM
Are taxes and gratuity included in registration price?
Yes, but additional cash gratuity is always suggested.
Am I allowed to bring a guest?
Guests are welcome to attend to the Norwegian Joy Inaugural, however, the ASTA Benchmarking event is exclusive to ASTA members only.
What airports do I fly into and out of, and what are the recommended flight times for both arrivals and departures?
It is recommended that you arrange your travel in to Los Angeles International Airport (LAX) for an arrival time of no later than 10:00 AM PST on April 29th.
While travel time can vary based on traffic, approximate travel time from Los Angeles International Airport (LAX) to Port of Los Angeles / Pacific Cruise Ship Terminal can take anywhere from 45 minutes, up to 1 hour.
As debarkation is scheduled to begin as early as 12:00 PM, it is recommended that you arrange your flights out of Los Angeles International Airport (LAX) to depart no earlier than 3:00 PM PST on April 30th.
While travel time can vary based on traffic, approximate travel time from Port of Los Angeles / Pacific Cruise Ship Terminal to Los Angeles International Airport (LAX) can take anywhere from 45 minutes, up to 1 hour.
Where is the ship going?
Norwegian Joy will sail out to sea with a technical stop in Ensenada, Mexico. This will allow you a unique opportunity to experience what Norwegian Joy has to offer.
What documentation do I need to bring?
A Valid Passport or Valid Passport Card
Proof of Citizenship (see below) AND A Valid Government-Issued Photo ID
- State certified U.S. birth certificate
(Baptismal paper, hospital certificates of birth, and Puerto Rico birth certificates issued prior to 7/1/10 are not acceptable.)
- Original certificate of U.S. naturalization
- Original certificate of U.S. citizenship
- U.S. Consular report of your birth abroad
*PLEASE MAKE NOTE THAT VALID PASSPORTS OR PASSPORT CARDS MUST HAVE EXPIRATION DATE A MINIMUM OF SIX (6) MONTHS PAST THE LAST DATE OF OUR EVENT (i.e. Oct 30, 2019). Please visit this site for additional information on travel requirements.
What will be available onboard?
All of Norwegian Joy’s dining outlets, including her specialty restaurants, bars & lounges, activities and entertainment will be available for you to enjoy and experience. For a list of detailed offerings aboard Norwegian joy, click here.
What will be included onboard?
All accommodations, meals, premium brand drinks, entertainment, WI-Fi, recreation activities including, but not limited to, the race track, laser tag and galaxy pavilion along with daily service charges are included. Credit card information will be collected during the check-in process for any incidentals of a personal nature you may wish to experience or participate in, while onboard.
What is available for purchase onboard?
After we sail, you will be able to shop in duty-free boutiques for perfume, jewelry, watches and spirits. Then browse our fine art auctions for a real find. When you want some "me" time, look no further than mandara spa®. Book one of over 50 specialty treatments when onboard. You can also have the opportunity to play all of your favorite games in our award-winning casinos at sea®.
What is the dress code throughout the event?
When it comes to what to wear, you can go resort casual or get decked-out and look your best - it’s your call. For women, this means dresses, skirts, regular or capri pants, dressy jeans and tops. For men, khakis, dressy jeans or slacks with a casual or collared shirt and closed-toed shoes are fine.
For those interested in experiencing the first race track at sea or taking a turn in the galaxy pavilion, make sure to pack your favorite closed-toe shoes!
Will i be able to pre-book dining and entertainment?
Due to the special nature of this inaugural event, dining and entertainment will not be accessible to book on own. Further details regarding dining and entertainment will be made available once onboard.
Is there a limit on baggage/luggage?
While there is no limit, as this is a short event, only carry-on luggage is permitted and all luggage must be able to fit through the standard size luggage scanners as seen at airports.
