I offer good old-fashion customer service. My passion is to design a vacation as unique as you are. As a mature solo traveler I traveled to over 100 countries to include all seven continents and India the sub-continent of Asia. I poured my energy into becoming a destination specialist and professional Travel Advisor by learning about the people, culture, and customs of many countries. During my travels I learn of exceptional places to go "off the beaten path, as well as special needs friendly ports of call.
About me
As a cruise line destination specialist and enrichment speaker, I have had the opportunity to experience and learn about the hidden jewels of each destination and the disappointments. I have been a host of Cox cables " Travels With Sara," and written about my experiences in my book "Travel Tips and Trivia: For Savvy Travelers and guidebooks on Alaska. Over the years I have become a Destination Specialist for many
destinations however my favorite is Alaska, South Georgia (BOT), and Antarctica.
Why I love my job
Over the years I have experienced what it is like traveling as a mature solo traveler and with someone with special needs. I have also seen what can go wrong when you end up on a cruise or tour that is not the right fit for you. I love helping savvy travelers find the right cruise or tour company that will give them a fabulous experience every time. Time is just too precious to waste.
Favorite Destinations
I walked with WW 2 spies and Agatha Christi ( Murder on the Orient Express) while traveling on board the infamous VSOE Orient Express Train. I had the opportunity to take the Trans Siberian Railroad from Vladivostok to Moscow. My favorite is a National Geographic guided South America , South Georgia BOT, and Antarctica expedition cruise on board a 120 passenger icebreaker. For seven weeks I experienced a trip that changed my life forever. It is my favorite place to talk about and help clients to find the right cruise to fit their personality and budget.
About my recent vacation
Alaska because of the variety of wildlife sometimes is called the "Serengeti of the North" has so much to offer history, scenery, animals, and mammals. However, the wrong cruise line will give you the tourist view rather than experiencing authentic Alaska. In the morning you can experience the ice age, go gold panning, walk on a glacier, view the famous upside-down trees, and horseback riding through a rainforest. Experience the 1898 Klondike Goldrush and the White Pass& Yukon railway the "Scenic Railway of the World." Have lunch at the haunted "Red Onion Saloon," ( see my podcast). Looking for something unique to visit "Aurora Ice Museum," even play golf with the polar bears. Alaska is a place that has everything that is except for crowds and casinos. History buffs the last shots of the civil war were fired here. The only place in the world that you will see Kodiak bears and the rare Glacier Bear referred to as the blue bear..
